Atiba Jefferson is the quintessential skateboard success story. It goes something like this:. Atiba, his twin brother, and their sister were raised by their mother in the small town of Manitou Springs, Colorado and Colorado Springs. There were food stamps and government assistance. He started shooting photos of his friends in high school while taking a photography class.

After graduation, Atiba flew to California. It was his first time on an airplane. He was on his way to work at a store when Grant Britain offered him an assistant job at Transworld.
